Abstract
County Kerry is synonymous with the bloodshed and trauma of the Irish Civil War. This is graphically illustrated in the case of the small, rural North Kerry village of Kilflynn - a community whose history is interwoven with the savagery and embittered legacy of the conflict. This chapter focuses on the experience of a handful of local individuals and their respective families to utilise Kilflynn as a microhistory of the conflict’s complex impact and inheritance on Irish society.
